Gautam Gambhir was frustrated at Virat Kohli for having thrown away his wicket and with that, missing out on a chance to score century and take India over the line.

It was a dismissal that resulted in universal disappointment. Virat Kohli had done the hard yards during his masterful 84 against Australia in the first semifinal of the Champions Trophy 2025. Kohli looked set to take India over the line and complete another century but his decision to take the aerial route in search of a boundary proved fatal with the batting maestro being caught in the deep off Adam Zampa.
The dismissal led to a few tense moments in the Indian dressing room given they had lost half their side now and still needed 40 runs to beat the ODI world champions. Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul ensured no late hiccups as India entered the final by chasing down the target with four wickets and 11 deliveries to spare.
Kohli’s manner and timing of dismissal left his batting partner KL Rahul disappointed and India head coach Gautam Gambhir appeared frustrated as well.
Gambhir was unhappy at Kohli taking the aggressive route even though Rahul at the other end was playing the big shots.
As Kohli made his way back to the dressing room, Gambhir was seen having a lively chat with his former India teammate.
India will face New Zealand in the final of the tournament this Sunday.
