Jasprit Bumrah started off the press-conference after Day 3 on a hilarious note with a witty response to a journalist who questioned his batting credentials.

Despite the mood being rather low for the Indian cricket team after a disappointing performance on the third day’s play of the third Test at the Gabba, Jasprit Bumrah seemed to have his wits in check as he delivered a hilarious response to light up the press conference after the day’s play.
Bumrah who came in to speak to the media, was questioned regarding the Indian batters’ repeated failures to deliver and whether that added more pressure to the bowlers. However, the reporter had also mentioned that asking Bumrah a question to the batters might not be correct which triggered a hilarious response from the pace spearhead.
“Yeah, it’s an interesting question that you’re questioning my batting ability so far.I think you should use Google and see who has the most number of runs in a Test over. But jokes apart, that’s another story,” Bumrah responded as the room burst into laughter.
Bumrah does hold the record for the most runs in an over for Tests after he smashed a total of 35 runs against England’s former pacer, Stuart Broad during the Test in Birmingham in 2022.
Putting the jokes aside, India’s batting has become a serious cause for concern, with the batting unit failing to take advantage of the conditions after Australia hammered a whopping first-innings score of 445 runs, thanks to Travis Head’s 152 and Steve Smith’s 101.
India’s batting failed to respond in similar fashion with the visitors losing four wickets by the end of the third day’s play. Mitchell Starc, struck twice to get rid of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill while Josh Hazlewood sent Virat Kohli packing and the Aussie skipper, Pat Cummins ended Rishabh Pant’s time in the middle.
Now the onus remains on the skipper, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. Rohit is yet to open his account while KL Rahul looks steady after scoring 33 runs off 64 deliveries. Should India have any chance of winning this Test, they would need these two to get a big partnership to keep them in the hunt.
But there is a chance that the fourth day’s play could be hampered by rain as has been the case in the first and third days of the ongoing Test. India would hope to get as much playing time as possible to keep them in contention for the win and keep their hopes alive for securing a spot in the World Test Championship Final.
