Varun Chakravarthy has made significant strides in the ICC Men’s T20Is bowler’s rankings following his recent exploits against England in the ongoing five-match T20I series. In addition, Tilak Varma now will be eyeing Travis Head’s position at the top of the batting charts.

The mystery spinner has been in fine form of late and has picked up a total of 10 wickets in the last three T20Is against England that were held in Kolkata, Chennai and Rajkot respectively. His best performance in the ongoing series was in the recently-concluded game in Rajkot where he picked up a five-wicket haul. But his performance went in vain as the Indian batters could not capitalise on their chase to lose the game by 26 runs.

While Chakravarthy’s performances garnered significant praise, his England counterpart, Adil Rashid has been quietly racking up some good performances to take the top spot in the Men’s T20I rankings among bowlers. The leg-spinner has amassed a total of 718 points, edging closer to his career-best when he amassed 746 in 2022.

The English pacer, Jofra Archer, who has been battling his fair share of injury concerns, also jumped up in the ratings to take the sixth position. Barring the performance in Chennai, he has been in good touch and seems to have found better form with the ball with five wickets in the series so far.

Tilak Varma Gunning For Travis Head’s Spot In T20I Rankings

Coming to the T20I batters’ rankings, the 22-year-old, Tilak Varma has been in top form of late. Since his exploits in the away series to South Africa, the young batting maestro has been scoring runs left right and centre. He is now 23 rating points behind Travis Head who holds the top spot in the T20I batters’ rankings.

With the top spot in sight, the batter from Hyderabad will be keen on continuing his rich vein in form and help the Men in Blue claim the series victory with the fourth T20I taking place in Pune on January 31.

The Test rankings also saw a few change-ups after the two-match Test series between Pakistan and the West Indies. Their star-spinner Noman Ali had picked up a 10-wicket-haul to help ensure that he jumps up four places to take the fifth position in the Test bowlers’ rankings.

In addition, West Indies’ Jomel Warrican made significant strides, jumping to 25th after taking 19 wickets across the two-match affair to jump to 24th in the Test all-rounders rankings.
