Legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli, who is leading the Indian team on the third day of the ongoing fifth Test against Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground, mocked Australian fans present at the iconic stadium on Sunday (January 5) by showing empty pockets, which indicated that there is no sandpaper with him. The video of Kohli taking on Australian fans is going viral on the internet.
The incident took place during the morning session of the third day’s play.
Three Australian players—Steve Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft—were involved in the infamous sandpapergate during Australia’s tour of South Africa in March 2018. As a result, Warner and Smith were banned for a year by Cricket Australia, and Bancroft, who used sandpaper to tamper with the ball, was handed a nine-month ban.
