Team India were bundled out for a paltry total of 156 runs in their first innings of the second Test at Pune against visiting New Zealand on Friday after the Kiwi had posted a total of 259 runs batting first.

Former skipper Virat Kohli, who was dismissed for just a single run by Mitchell Santner, was captured being involved in a light-hearted moment as he adjusted his gait to resemble the walk of teammate Shubman Gill.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma opened the innings for the hosts before the captain fell for a duck to Tim Southee. Gill added 30 runs before falling to Mitchell Santner.

Santner doubled his tally with the removal of Kohli for 1 run before Glenn Phillips scalped Yashasvi Jaiswal for 30 runs.

Phillips bagged his second wicket with the dismissal of Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant. Santner sent Sarfaraz Khan back to the hut for 11 runs, before the wily spinner got the better of Ravichandran Ashwin for just 4 runs.

Jadeja, who top-scored for the Indians, was dismissed by Santner for 38 runs, before the 32-year-old completed the rout of India with the dismissals of Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah for 6 runs and a duck respectively to bundle out the hosts.

Washington Sundar, who also managed to scalp 7 wickets with the ball on Day 1, ended unbeaten at 18 runs.

New Zealand finished the day at 198/5 in the second innings to take a lead of 301 runs against the hosts with Tom Latham’s 86-run knock.

Sundar was among the wickets yet again in the second half as he dismissed four Kiwis including Latham, Conway for 17, Rachin Ravindra for 9 and Daryll Mitchell for 18.

Ashwin added the wicket of Will Young, dismissed for 23, as the spinner caught the batter plumb in front of the wicket.

Sundar and Ashwin had spun a web of spin to bundle out the Kiwis on the opening day on Thursday to limit the tourists to a total of 259 runs as Devon Conway led the way with a 76-run-knock. Rachin Ravindra added 65.
