India all-rounder Hardik Pandya is winning hearts online after a warm meet-and-greet with some of his young supporters. The 31-year-old cricketer shared an adorable moment with his fans at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Monday, ahead of India’s third T20I against England.
As the seam-bowling all-rounder signed some autographs, he had a hilarious interaction with one of the supporters. In a video that has now gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), Pandya was spotted asking the young fan, “Kaha karu? T-Shirt par? (Where should I give it, on the T-shirt?)”.
In the post, the user wrote, “The most grounded down to earth human Ik!! Idolo, you inspired me yet again! I’m so proud of you.”
The all-rounder signed a blue hat before scribbling his signature on one of the supporters’ T-shirts. He then posed for a photograph alongside all three fans with a wide grin on his face.
Pandya, remains a vital cog in India’s white-ball setup. However, he has not been able to deliver his best performances during the previous two T20Is against England. He took three wickets in the first two matches and only scored 10 runs with the bat. The Baroda-born cricketer will now hope to guide the Men in Blue to a win in Rajkot. India already lead the series 2-0 with victories in Kolkata and Chennai and a third consecutive win will see them sweep the series early.
He also has his eyes set on winning the 2025 Champions Trophy with India. The 31-year-old recently shared his excitement for the upcoming ICC event in a tournament press release.
“The return of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy is a significant boost to cricket, adding depth and context to the One-Day format. This iconic tournament promises to reignite excitement among fans and players alike,” he said. “India is ready to showcase its unique brand of cricket, with every player committed to bringing the trophy home again,” the all-rounder added.
India will begin their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign against Bangladesh. The highly-anticipated fixture will be hosted in Dubai on February 20. The Rohit Sharma-led side will face their arch-rivals Pakistan on February 23 before taking on New Zealand on March 2.
