An Indian fan was removed from Adelaide for taunting the hosts by waving sandpaper during the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 25 between the sides.
The Indian fan’s action was a dig aimed at the infamous sandpaper gate the Australians found themselves embroiled in after seamer Cameron Bancroft looked to alter the conditions of the ball during the Aussies’ Test against South Africa at Cape Town back in the year 2018.
The repercussions the Aussies faced following the ball-tampering incident included a nine-month ban for the bowler and a ban of one year for former skippers Steve Smith and David Warner, who were privy to Bancroft’s folly.

Team India headed to the Adelaide Test with a slender 1-0 series lead following their incredible 295-run win over the hosts at Perth in the series opener, but Pat Cummins and Co. came back strong at Adelaide to restore parity at 1-1 with a 10-wicket win.
Hometown hero Travis Head was the star of the show at Adelaide as his incredible 140-run knock helped the hosts post a total of 337 runs in reply to the Indian first innings score of 180 runs.

Cummins’ second innings fifer limited India to 175 runs as they returned to bat, leaving Australia the easy task of scaling the 19-run target with ease to get back on even terms at the ongoing iteration of the BGT.
The third Test of the series is slated to begin on the 14th of December at The Gabba in Brisbane.
