Ahead of India’s marquee clash against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, fans continue to showcase their massive support for the Men in Blue with yet another havan ceremony being performed before the highly-anticipated matchup between the rival nations.
Fans had done a similar ritual ahead of India’s game against Bangladesh as well in Varanasi. It comes as no surprise if the Indian team come out with a similar result once again.
A video shared by ANI on X (formerly known as Twitter), captures the ritual being conducted in Kolkata to showcase their support for Rohit Sharma and Co. The two sides are set to meet in Dubai and the Indian team will be expected to go all the way.
India, led by Rohit Sharma is coming in after a dominant performance with bat and ball, securing a win by six wickets against Bangladesh in their first group-stage game. Mohammed Shami took a five-wicket haul in the first innings and Shubman Gill scored a composed century in the match.
Pakistan on the other hand, led by Mohammad Rizwan are coming on the back of a crushing defeat to New Zealand by 60 runs. In the first game of the tournament, that too on home soil, Pakistan disappointed their fans with a performance that was far below their expected levels.
Babar Azam, who opened the batting, copped severe criticism from fans and experts for his slow-paced knock. His batting display was criticized for being overly slow despite the side needing a 300+ score to chase down.
Both sides will be looking to win but for different reasons. India will look to confirm their spot in the knockout stages of the tournament while Pakistan battles for survival as the upcoming game is a must-win clash for the Men in Green.
The match will be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday. India will have the advantage of having played at this venue in their previous game and the Rohit Sharma-led side will hope to come away with a big win against their arch-rivals.
