Ishan Kishan is part of India A squad that will compete in two red-ball matches against Australia A starting October 31.
Indian wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan received a wholesome goodbye from his family before taking the flight to Australia for a bilateral A series. Kishan is set to make his India A return after being named in a 15-man squad that will compete in two unofficial Tests against Australia A, beginning October 31.
Days before the upcoming tour, a video of the wicketkeeper leaving his hometown is being widely shared on social media.
Kishan’s family members can be seen showering their love and blessings on the cricketer as he sits inside a car to leave for the airport.
The typical Indian farewell has sparked several reactions from fans in the comments.
“Caring family,” read one response.
Another wrote, “Awww this is adorable.:
“May your journey go well, play cricket with your best performance,” added a fan.
Kishan was dropped from Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) central contracts list earlier this year. He was last part of India’s tour of South Africa in 2023 which he left midway.
The cricketer courted trouble after skipping domestic cricket which irked the BCCI resulting in his exclusion from the contract list. However, he has since made a successful return to first-class cricket which has seen him being picked for the Australia A series.
India A are scheduled to play two red-ball matches against Australia A. The first game will be hosted at Mackay while the action will shift to Melbourne in the second game. The young squad will then take on the senior India team in a three-day intra-squad fixture in Perth.
Ruturaj Gaikwad has been appointed skipper for the series. Kishan and Abhishek Porel are the two wicketkeepers selected for the tour. The senior Indian men’s team is scheduled to take on Australia in a five-match Test series starting November 22.
