In a massive goof-up, India’s national anthem started playing instead of Australia’s at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore

In a major blunder ahead of the classic Australia vs England Champions Trophy encounter, the Indian national anthem, Jana Gana Mana began playing ahead of ‘Advance Australia Fair’, as everyone was taken aback by the sudden incident at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
As a practice, the national anthems of both teams are played before every game. England’s ‘God Save The King’ was supposed to be followed by ‘Advance Australia Fair’ but the Indian national anthem came on for two seconds before the mistake was rectified.
Notably, India strictly maintained that they wouldn’t travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy and hence, the tournament is being played in a hybrid manner, with India playing all their matches in Dubai. They will play arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday, February 23.
