During the morning session of the ongoing fourth Test between India and Australia, a pitch invader managed to give the security at the Melbourne Cricket Ground the slip and tried to hug batting superstar Virat Kohli. The invader dodged the security officials and a furious India captain Rohit Sharma who tried to tackle him.
The incident caused a short delay to the proceedings before the security personnels quickly sprang into action and escorted the man off the field. Kohli was clearly unhappy at the turn of events.
Kohli was repeatedly booed by the crowd at the MCG which seems to be a response to his on-field clash with Australian debutant Sam Konstas on the opening day. The two collided while crossing over resulting in a heated exchange.
Later, ICC fined Kohli 20 per cent of his match fee for the incident besides handing him two demerit points.
