Australia pacer Mitchell Starc showcased his bowling precision in the nets ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Starc will be leading Australia’s fast-bowling attack in the upcoming five-match Test battle against India. Ahead of the Perth Test, he was spotted training in nets with the red ball. During one moment, the Aussie pacer was seen delivering a rocket towards the middle stump to catch the batter off-guard. The official account of the Australia Men’s Cricket Team has now shared a video of the precise delivery on Instagram. “Starcy’s got the red ball and bails are going flying,” the post read.

The video began with Mitchell Starc taking his signature run-up. He was rocking a blue-coloured Australia training kit as he delivered the superfast ball. The batter didn’t even have the time to react as the ball took the bails off the stumps. Following the wicket, a cheeky grin was visible on the Australia speedster’s face.

Fans were amazed to see Mitchell Starc’s precision in the training session. Many poured their reactions in the post’s comments section. One of them claimed that Australia were going to win the upcoming five-match bout. “AUS will definitely win the series,” he wrote.

Another fan said, “Starc built different.”

One user claimed that Mitchell Starc was seemingly in his best form. “Best he’s looked in a while, looking forward to the first Test.”

Another commented, “Starcy’s be like – be careful.”

A netizen wrote, “The hype is real and this will be the best of the best.”

“Can’t wait to see that inswinger,” wrote another fan.

Mitchell Starc will likely play a key role in Australia’s quest for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He recently grabbed eyeballs during another practice session where he was spotted using a half-red and half-white ball. It is believed that this particular type of cricket ball improves hand-eye coordination while also offering prodigious swing. A fan shared a snap of the unique ball on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Interesting. One half of the ball is white, the other half of the ball is red. Preparing the batters for lateral movement and reverse swing. Mitchell Starc.”

While Mitchell Starc has been in top form for Australia in recent years, he hasn’t had too much success against India in Test cricket. He averages 38.54 against the two-time World Test Championship finalists which is his highest compared to all the teams he has faced in the long format. He will be looking to improve his record in the upcoming series.

The 2024/25 edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will commence on November 22 at the Optus Stadium.
