MS Dhoni has once again hit the headlines for his humble gesture towards a fan. The Chennai Super Kings captain stopped at the Mumbai airport to take a selfie with a wheelchair-bound woman. A video featuring the heartwarming moment has gone viral, catching the attention of many “Thala” fans.
Having defeated Lucknow Super Giants in a crucial away game, Dhoni’s Yellow Army is now set to face arch-rivals Mumbai Indians for the second time this season.
Dhoni, who recently replaced an injured Ruturaj Gaikwad to take over the captaincy, appears to be in good form. He showed glimpses of his finishing prowess in the last match as CSK beat LSG by five wickets to secure their second win of this IPL.
Dhoni and Co. have already begun their preparation for their next outing, scheduled for Sunday, April 20. All the CSK players arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday. Dhoni, on his way out of the airport, came across an elderly woman sitting in a wheelchair outside the terminal gate.
As soon as the CSK skipper realised that the fan wanted to meet him, he immediately stopped there and asked the security personnel to wait. The woman then handed over her phone to Dhoni, who smilingly clicked a selfie with her.
The Chennai Super Kings have struggled with their batting in the ongoing IPL. The situation has become more difficult due to the injury of Ruturaj Gaikwad. They even faced trouble in chasing 167 in the last game against Lucknow.
When MS Dhoni came to the crease following the dismissal of Vijay Shankar, CSK needed 56 runs off the last five overs. The legendary finisher took very little time to settle and scored a blazing 26 off just 11 balls. His match-defining knock comprised four boundaries and one six.
Dhoni was supported by Shivam Dube, who finished as CSK’s top scorer with 43 runs. The duo remained unbeaten as Chennai sealed the deal with three balls in hand. The five-time champions should make the most out of the remaining matches to fancy their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.
