Dhoni enjoys a huge fan following and pictures and clips of him making rare public appearances often go viral on social media. Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction, speculations have been rife about Dhoni’s possible participation in the next season of the competition.
Dhoni reportedly is yet to have a word with the CSK management on whether he intends to continue playing for another season. October 31 is the last date of announcing player retentions ahead of IPL mega auction.
Meanwhile, fans on social media have been gushing over Dhoni’s style statement.
“He’s looking gorgeous,” commented one.
Another fan was curious on Mahi’s IPL future. “Any update on whether MSD is playing for CSK in the upcoming IPL,” read the post.
“Thala for a reason,” wrote another user.
This person felt that Dhoni is “turning the clock back.”
One social media user called Dhoni the “biggest crowd puller in history.”
“His stylish look is on point and it is great to see him rocking such a bold vibe,” observed another.
Another user commented, “I’m shocked by how stylish MS Dhoni looks! He always manages to impress, both on and off the field. This new look is definitely turning heads!”
One of the finest captains to have ever lead India, Dhoni enjoys a remarkable record in the IPL too. He has led CSK to five IPL titles.
West Indies legend Chris Gayle recently picked Dhoni as the most successful captain for India. The West Indies legend also felt that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have done their jobs well as Indian skippers.
“Dhoni has been the most successful captain for India. The guy has actually set the trend and overall, Rohit Sharma did his job well and Virat Kohli did his job pretty much,” Chris Gayle told IANS.
The Indian cricket team is currently involved in a Test series against New Zealand. The Rohit-led side faced a defeat in the Test series opener. The second Test is currently underway in Bengaluru.
