David Warner coming out and revealing that he would be willing to come out of Test retirement to open for Australia for the upcoming Test series vs India has rocked the cricketing world. While the cricketing world remains shaken, the Aussie skipper, Pat Cummins had a hilarious response to whether he would want to see his former teammate back in the side.
Cummins who was well aware of Warner’s stance had a funny response as the skipper revealed his take in the popular ‘The Grade Cricketer’ podcast on YouTube.
“Dave, we are very interested. We are taking it very seriously, and we’ll be in touch, mate,” said Cummins.
But the skipper opened up on the conversation he had with Warner where Cummins sarcastically revealed his actual take on Warner’s return.
“I did speak to Dave a couple of days ago, and he was like, ‘What do you think’, and I am like, yeah! Good luck with the Thunder this year. And I will look forward to your comments on Fox,” he shared.
As Australia looks ahead to India’s upcoming tour Down Under, the mighty Aussies will be keen on getting back against their rivals after suffering a series of defeats for quite some time now at the hands of the Indian team.
But Australia have a massive concern with regard to their opening batter and who would partner Khawaja at the top of the order. The likes of Cameron Bancroft, Sam Konstas and even Marcus Harris are names that have been floating around the rumour mill, but Australia has yet to take an official stance regarding the matter.
India’s tour of Australia will begin with a few practice games and the Test series will be a five-match affair with games taking place at Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney respectively with the series beginning on November 22.
The Aussies will be keen on bringing the best side forward as they hope to end their decade-long losing streak against India while reclaiming the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and also maintaining their pride of dominating in home conditions.
