The entire country appears to be gripped with “Pushpa” fever and Rinku Singh is no exception. The Indian batter was recently spotted imitating the iconic action of Pushpa Raj from the Telugu movie series.
Featuring Allu Arjun in the titular role, the second instalment of the Sukumar directorial– ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ has been a massive hit, not only in India but also globally. It has become the fastest Indian movie to enter the Rs 1000-crore club in terms of worldwide collection.
While the action thriller continues to rule the box office, Rinku was seen mimicking Allu Arjun’s signature move during a gym session.
The video was first dropped on his Instagram story when Rinku Singh was playing for Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He was joined by some of his teammates who were also captured copying the Pushpa move while standing in front of a mirror. An Indian fan later reshared the clip on X (formerly Twitter), shedding light on the craze of “icon star” Allu Arjun.
Rinku Singh had a good outing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy but his team crashed out of the quarter-finals. Uttar Pradesh lost the knockout clash to Delhi on December 11 in Bengaluru. Rinku managed only 10 runs in the match while chasing a hefty target of 194 runs. Priyam Garg was the top-performing batter for Uttar Pradesh, scoring 54 off 34 balls.
Despite his poor show in the quarter-final, Rinku wrapped up the T20 competition with 277 runs. The southpaw maintained a strike rate of over 150 while averaging almost 70. He is expected to be seen in the blue jersey in January next year when India host England in a five-match T20I series.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun was arrested after the release of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. During a special screening of the film in Hyderabad on December 4, a woman died in a stampede and a child got severely injured. Questions were raised about the security measures at the movie hall and Allu Arjun’s team was also accused.
After being released from jail, the actor said, “I want to thank all my fans. There is nothing to worry about. I would like to once again express my condolences to the family. It was an unfortunate incident. We are sorry for what happened.” According to Sacnilk, the movie’s net India collection has already crossed the Rs 900-crore mark.
