New Zealand got their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign under with a 60-run win over Pakistan on Wednesday. The result not only extended New Zealand’s dominance over Pakistan in the tournament, with a 4-0 head-to-head record, but also left the hosts facing an uphill battle in a tough Group A, where only two teams will progress to the semi-finals.
Despite their strong performance, Shikhar Dhawan is not willing to consider New Zealand as favourites to win the Champions Trophy.
When Ross Taylor asked the former India opener if he thought New Zealand could win the Champions Trophy, in a video posted on Instagram, Dhawan broke into laughter.
