The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is currently tied at 1-1 with two matches to go.
With the Border-Gavaskar Trophy tied at 1-1, the fourth Test in Melbourne is expected to be a cracker of a contest. A video of the Indian cricketers departing from Brisbane for the Boxing Day Test has now been shared by the official broadcasters on X (formerly Twitter). Skipper Rohit Sharma, pacer Mohammed Siraj and other players like KL Rahul, Akash Deep and Yashasvi Jaiswal can be seen in the video leaving Brisbane for Melbourne.
“Team India heads to their next battle with focus, pride, and determination! Team India is ready for the next episode of the Toughest Rivalry in Melbourne,” read the post.

With the Brisbane Test ending in a draw, India and Australia currently find themselves tied at 1-1 following three matches. Skipper Rohit Sharma’s return to leadership duties in the series has not proved to be effective yet. His performance with the bat has not been impressive either.
Rohit Sharma did not take part in the series opener in Perth. Following his return in Adelaide, the captain has managed scores of 3, 6 and 10 in the last two matches. Rohit had to give up his usual spot in the top order after KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 201-run opening stand in Perth. His return to the middle order, after a gap of five years, has been tepid so far.
Rohit Sharma recently accepted that his batting has not been the best in recent times but he does “feel good” about his game. “I have not batted well. There’s no harm in accepting that. But I know what’s in my mind, how I’m preparing myself. All those boxes are very much ticked. It’s just about spending as much time as possible, which I’m pretty sure I’m just there,” Rohit said in the post-match press conference after the Gabba Test.
“As long as my mind, my body, my feet are moving well, I’m pretty happy with how things are panning out for me. Sometimes those numbers can tell you that it’s been a while since he’s got big runs,” Rohit Sharma added.
The penultimate fixture of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will start on December 26. The third Test between India and Australia was Ravichandran Ashwin’s final match of his international career. Ashwin announced his retirement from all formats in a post-match interaction following the Gabba Test.
