Team India got their semifinal clash against Australia off to a brilliant start as star pacer Mohammed Shami removed Aussie opener Cooper Connolly for a duck off nine deliveries to help the men in blue draw first blood in the high-profile ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal at the Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday.

Shami nearly doubled India’s delight but ultimately failed to do so as he muffed a caught-and-bowled chance offered up by Travid Head. Thankfully for those draped in blue, it did ot turn out to be expensive as Varun Chakravarthy removed the dangerous Aussie opener for 39 runs off 33 deliveires as the southpaw skied one and Shubman Gill made no mistake of hanging onto the chance.
