After a commanding win in the ODI series, the West Indies are set to host England in five T20Is. With this assignment, the English side will wrap up their tour of the island country. The opening game of the T20I series is slated to be hosted at the iconic Kensington Oval in Barbados. England will play with the same 16-member squad that featured in the recently concluded ODI series. The only exception is their white-ball captain Jos Buttler, who returns to the T20I set-up after a long injury break. The wicketkeeper-batter remained out of action due to a calf injury.
England have brought a young, inexperienced squad in this West Indies tour. John Turner, Jafer Chohan and Dan Mousley are expected to make their debuts in the upcoming series. Jacob Bethell and Jamie Overton also hope to get an opportunity, having featured in two T20Is so far during their emerging careers.
The West Indies have announced a strong squad for the T20I series. Veteran all-rounder Andre Russel has been recalled along with Nicholas Pooran, Akeal Hosein and Shimron Hetmyer. These four players were absent from the recent tour of Sri Lanka where the West Indies lost a three-match T20I series 2-1.
