Sunrisers Hyderabad take on the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday in match no. 33 of IPL 2025 in an enticing encounter.

SRH head coach Daniel Vettori revealed that the side would look to capitalise on the abundance of experience new recruit Ishan Kishan has at the venue, following his stint with the five-time champions between 2018 and 2024.

“It would be foolish not to tap into some of that knowledge and understanding around the Mumbai mentality and how they deal with certain situations, and also understanding the surface, how it plays, the dew factor, all those little things,” Vetori said

“He has a wealth of knowledge for me and the rest of the coaches for this time, but mainly because he’s a fantastic player,” the former New Zealand skipper added.

SRH romped to a dominant triumph over the Punjab Kings in their previous outing as they chased down the target of 246 runs with 8 wickets and 9 balls to spare, thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s incredible 141-run knock off just 55 deliveries. Fellow opener Travis Head chipped in with a solid 66 runs off 37 deliveries to set the innings up perfectly for the side to complete in style.

It was only Hyderabad’s second win of the season, but their NRR helped them remain ahead of bottom-placed Chennai Super Kings, who also have four points to their name this season.

SRH won their opener against RR in stunning fashion before slumping to defeats against Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Gujarat Titans before returning to winning ways against Punjab Kings.

MI have had to endure a tough season as well with just two wins coming in six outings. They started the season with a defeat to CSK, before going down to GT. Mumbai picked up their first win of the campaign against KKR, before losing to LSG and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, before digging out a win against DC.
