Star Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal entered his name in the history books on Tuesday (April 15) by becoming the first bowler in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to take three four-wicket hauls against one team. Chahal finished with figures of 4 for 28 in four overs for Punjab Kings against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 31st IPL 2025 match played at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
For his super show with the ball in the game, which his side won by 16 runs, Chahal won the Player of the Match award.
Before his match-winning performance, Chahal, who joined PBKS for Rs 18 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, picked 5 wickets for 40 runs in four overs for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 match played against KKR at Brabourne Stadium on April 18, 2022, and on May 11, 2023, during the IPL 2023 match played between RR and KKR, he dismissed four batters for 25 runs in four overs.
The four-wicket haul on Tuesday was Chahal’s 8th four-fer in IPL history, and it helped him equal legendary West Indies spinner Sunil Narine’s record of most four-wicket hauls in the world’s richest franchise cricket league.

Dwayne Bravo is third on the list with 33 wickets against the Mumbai Indians, and Mohit Sharma also has 33 wickets to his name in the IPL against the Mumbai-based franchise.
